Modern but eclectic, the Lydmar-Hotel has a style all its own. The restaurant’s breakfast room combines severe cubic arm chairs with warm, well-worn leather sofas, antique globes and chairs, towering shelves of books and wine bottles to create an atmosphere as comfortable as it is elegant. The walls are hung with the work of renowned photographer James Nachtwey, who personally delivered his work to the hotel in 2008 when the exhibition opened there. The rooms, labelled S to XXL like clothing sizes, range from simple modern double rooms with rich, dark hard wood flooring to sophisticated and stylish XL rooms. Live music often plays during dinner at the popular in-house restaurant, where colourful Stockholmers dine alongside travellers.
